pretty mighty, but a bit complicated functionality - some shortcuts missing (toom much mouse-interaction) - otherwise great!

The application is generally very good. It does take quite a long time to open, and there are some tracks which can't be found as part of a compilation album where other tracks are found, but they can be found individually. It's not the end of the world, just a bit annoying

SongKong
If i was willing to have some songs labeled improperly it would be ok. I have found that I lament my decision to buy SongKong instead of upgrading to Jaikoz pro. SongKong had a couple selling points that i wanted, Speed of look up, bpm, mood, the ability to reverse changes and the ability to look at large collections. I did a test run using 2k songs. I found the list of changes almost impossible to read. I was unable to load the excel file of the changes. I found that when you make changes to the preferences then cancel, some of the preferences were saved while others were not. I can say that most songs were matched correctly. Though the songs were moved during saving, the file renaming did not work. Also, I did not find that SongKong was any better suited to large collections than Jaikoz. After the test i decided to undo changes and was dismayed to find out that all changes had to be undone, not just some. Which for me is unacceptable. SongKong is immature and will need refining before it good enough to be used by the serious collector.

Hi Eli Thanks for your review, as we discussed the issue you were having is that you had all your songs from multiple artists and albums in a single folder. I would not recommend this folder organization and does make correct album matching significantly harder and did cause some albums to be incorrect labeled but not songs, but as you discovered if you used SongKong to match and organize your songs and did a second pass you got good results, Likewise the Undo feature works for any (sub)folder you dont have to rollback all changes, except in your case you did because your whole collection was in a single folder, hopefuly we have now resolved your issues.

I've had it for years with almost no progress. It seems too complex for me - I feel lost or intimidated. I think that I should have opted for your other product. I just purchased the Pro version hoping that things would be simplified. I'm 72 and want to get organize while I still can. Plodding along with Musicbee + Discogs plug-in - slow. Tune-up was the worst. Anyway, tomorrow is another day.

HI Jas, it sounds like SongKong would be better for you as it is really designed to be simple and easy to use, whereas Jaikoz is more designed for fine tuning and custom editing, email me if you are interested in giving SongKong a go.

Tried many music tagged on Windows PC. This is my fav and the ability to copy and paste over many fields has been a real time saver. The reliance on java is my only negative point

Sorry for the two stars!

ATM, I'd say SKfM is worth about £10, but I'm still evaluating it. Mainly because it's only solved about half of my metadata probs. I got a message from you a couple of days ago saying that Twonky needs to be switched off to prevent it rescanning and slowing the process down. I've yet to try that. Some artwork is viewable in folder view but not album view.

Hi Steve, its worth running SongKong a second time to get more matches. SongKong always embeds artwork in the files itself, but only optionally stores as files in the folder (you need to enable Artwork:Save Artwork to Filesystem to do this), but for some audio formats Twonky looks at embedded metadata and for some it only looks in the folder, this sounds like the cause of your issue.

Great product and actually has decent help. Not expected to 'learn' what program is capable of by searching online on forums with advice from who knows!. HOWEVER I downloaded and ran S_K trial against My Music01 which took about 18 hours. I perused the report and decided to buy the PRO license as it claims to be faster. I deleted the prev database and all the reports created by the trial so S_K was like it was when I installed it. Then spent 1 1/2hrs setting parameters referencing your excellent documentation. Sat and monitored its progress until I had to goto bed. In morning it had failed having done about 65%. Sent report as advised in similar experience :- http://www.jthink.net/jaikozforum/posts/list/19550.page. I await your advice as to how to restart - if I can or how to proceed/progress.
Was it a wireless connection fault as I notice several files were abandoned due to time out. Thanks.

Hi David, yes I reviewed your report there some seemed to be a network issue because when SongKong came to modify some files they could no longer be found. The good news is that files are saved as they are changed on a folder a basis. So in your case 65% should now have good metadata and be moved to your configured move folder, if you then rerun Songkong it should process the remaining 35%

The best tool of its kind. I always use it on any music files before importing into iTunes. Just wish I had it sooner!

Now, if there were a Jaikoz for tagging video files....
