Great product for adding tags and album art and sorting your entire music collection exactly as you would like. Lets you control every option to give you exactly what you need. Also can move your music while sorting it , e.g to a USB drive. I was able to restore my server backup from the 2000s and get it all tagged and sorted into folders.

Overall, a good product that is a valuable tool for adding metadata to song files.
I've encountered some confusing behavior and I'm working with Paul to resolve. The issues could be user inexperience. :-)
If my issues are resolved, I'll re-rate as a 5.

Didn't match quote as much as Musicbrainz but installed on my Synology meant I could leave it running all night on my entire collection. The remove duplicates function is great and has helped me trim my storage space significantly.

After attending the Melco event at KJ West in London last Thursday, I bought Songkong. I have the Melco N100 and look forward to Songkong developments in this direction. I have tried the software on my Mac in preview mode. I was impressed by the changes SongKong can make to my library. I intend to make the changes next week. I hope to succeed. Is there anything You can help me with to do so?

HI Anton, if you run Create Support Files that will send us your report so we can review. If you are 100% happy with the results then I would just advise to rerun with preview switched off, but if you have any queries simply email support@jthink.net and we can help further. Also we have started a tutorial at http://blog.jthink.net/2018/09/songkong-tutorial-part-1-status-report.html that you may find useful.

Seems ok but I find myself using mediabrainz picard software more often due to easy way to see complete albums and choose alternative album. AudioID seems to miss obscure tracks (classical and independent) and have to rely on shazam to fix tracks or get CD out. Maybe if it can visually group albums and actually see missing tracks in the interface I'd find it more useful. Maybe also an easy way to drag and drop tracks to the right songs. It somehow restructured a George Michael album in one example where all the tracks somehow got shuffled when it was correct before I put it though autocorrect. The track names were all wrong when I saved, all I wanted to do was put the right IDs landfill tags. Overall it seems ok but wish it did more, like lyrics, mood, other tags, performers etc. I have to learn more using the software. Tech support was nice though.

Hi Michael, Audio Identification usually works, but if you have songs from multiple albums in one folder that may be preventing a match,in which case you need to uncheck Prefences:Remote Correct:Only allow match if all songs in grouping match to one album. Under reports there is a List Missing Songs for Albums report, you can also use Manual Correct Metadata from MusicBrainz if you want to pick the album to match to. We dont add lyrics but we certainly add performers. If you have a Pro license we also add mood and other acoustic attributes when the songs is matched and found in AcousticBrainz. Dont hesitate to contact support if you have further questions.

Exactly what I've been looking for after manually tagging thousands of CD's. Excellent features. This will save me hundreds of hours work as I continue maintaining my growing library.

The best program for tagging use. Love the flexibility to add my own data or have it corrected via music brainz.

Would be good if there was a feature to remove duplicates where a duplicate is the same song name / artist regardless of album. Seems the duplicate removals are oriented toward albums where song from different albums are not duplicate. That is good for collection albums - but people rarely do that now.

Hi Stephen SongKong does have that actually, set 'Song is a duplicate if' to 'Same song (metadata only)' or 'Sounds the same only' to find duplicate song without taking the album into account.

I would recommend SongKong. I have a modest library, about 10K tracks. I needed to update meta data and didn’t want to spend a ton of time on it. It was easy to use and view the results. The genre matching was not perfect so I am spending some time cleaning that up but other than that, everything else was good. It has quite a few options to customize what it does but I didn’t spend a ton of time experimenting. Up to now, I was using MusicBrainz Picard on a mac. Overall, happy with the software.

this is a very complicated program to learn. for a while the program failed to work and then mysteriously started to work again. I am not sure if i am using it correctly. there needs to be a basic training program on steps to set up the program for your particular needs.

I confess, in a no.wnt void if thought I f****d my music library, with 30k tracks and my lack.if patience jaikoz felt a little risky, songpop however sorted it out to a point I thought I never get back to. It's the bomb! Thanks.

It took me a little while to work out how to use the app properly but it is excellent. I found that sometimes it was more accurate if it was asked to identify single files rather than a batch so if the results of tagging dont appear correct I would go back and do individual files. Sometimes for an unusual or uncommon song it helped to put in some additional information into a few fields like artist and album and then Jaikoz could pick up the rest. A trick that I used on unknown songs was to play them and recognize using Shazam which then tells you the artist, aong and the album which was enough to feed into Jaikoz to then clean up the rest.
Another cool trick for Album Art is the ability to paste an image directly into the album art field. If Jaikoz couldn't locate the artwork then I would search for the artist song or album in Google images and once I found the album cover a simple copy and paste put the album art into the song tags field.
Finally one of the best features is the renaming of the original file according to my user preferences, this took a while to figure out how to configure the settings in the file and folder renaming options but once I did it has been a great tool.
I tried Jaikoz side by side with SongKong but Songkong just didn't have the flexibility and control that I had with Jaikoz. Accuracy for tagging files was similar but it was occasionally worthwhile trying Songkong when Jaikoz wasn't successful.
Overall an excellent product and very useful for sorting out all those old music files.

it seems to be working well, but a "wizard" feature would be nice for us users who are not technical music geeks, would be great. i know it is a powerful program for cleaning a music collection, but i do not understand most of the terminology and settings. i had your jaikoz first, and it is even more difficult to understand how to use; even though it seems more powerful. but between the two programs, they are the best out there for fixing music library problems; i just do not have the time or knowledge to get the best out of either program. thanks for your hard work in writing both of them.
